Vertical Drain (Vertical Drain) is an efficient and economical method to stabilize the ground by artificially forming a P.B.D (Plastic Board Drain) drainage layer on large and impermeable soils such as clay, silt, and peat.

Construction Features of IAN P.B.D (Plastic Board Drain)

    • It is more economical, workable, and quality-controlled than other vertical drainage methods that have the same effect as the vertical drainage method for improving the soft ground.

    • Ultra-soft ground construction uses lightweight construction equipment (ground pressure 4.5 TON²) to ensure trafficability, small ground disturbance during typing, and high work efficiency.

    • The latest P.B.D construction equipment, which is being developed by a contractor who specializes in soft ground construction, is equipped with the latest equipment, so more efficient and accurate construction is possible.

Filter Material
  • A filter material exclusively for Vertical Drain, Polypropylene or Polyester.
  • To avoid clogging due to soil particles inside the drain material, the product has an appropriate effective hole size (AOS) of 80㎛or less and has sufficient tensile strength of 500N to 700N (based on the KSK0743 test method).
  • Products with high resistance to acids, alkalis, bacteria, etc.

Core Material
  • A filter material exclusively for Vertical Drain, Polypropylene or Polyester.

Draing Material (Filter + Core)
  • A Jacket Type with a large filtration contact area and separate Filter and Core for excellent drainage.
  • Filter and Core are combined to have a tensile strength of 3500N or more (test method KSK ISO 10319), and the cross-sectional area of the drain material is reduced to maintain sufficient drainage performance even under strong pressure measurement.

In the soft ground improvement by the Vertical Drainage method, it is more economical, workable, and quality control than the materials of other methods.

The product type is designed to prevent the discharge capacity of the drain material itself from deteriorating even if it breaks and bends due to pressure measurement and consolidation according to the depth of the product type.

Filter materials with optimum effective hole size (50~80㎛)) are used to prevent clogging of holes due to movement characteristics such as fine soil.

Filter material has excellent strength and rigidity, and the filter material does not push into the depth of the core valley even with strong pressure measurement, so there is almost no decrease in the cross-sectional area of the flow path inside the drain material. Therefore, it is a product that does not increase the flow resistance (Well Resistance) of pore water and does not cause a decrease in drainage performance (Discharge Capacity).

Type of soft ground When applying a deep section with a depth of 30M or more, the function of water flow capacity deteriorates due to lateral pressure of 300kpa to 500kpa or more, the same water gradient, and deformation (30%) due to bending of the drain material. However, this IAN DRAIN BOARD can maintain excellent drainage performance (Discharge Capacity).
